The Dance of Hope: Flamenco Fundraising Event has been organized to achieve three main goals: to support the rehabilitation of Angelita Vargas, globally acclaimed gypsy flamenco dancer who is in recovery from the stroke in June 2011, to spread the awareness of stroke prevention, and to raise funds for Shepherd Center of Atlanta.

Event Details: a DVD presentation of Angelita Vargas' performance (from unpublished footages of "Dos Ramas"), live flamenco music and dance performances by Ethan Margolis and Cihtli Ocampo, a stroke prevention talk by an educational coordinator of the Shepherd Center of Atlanta, art and photo presentation, silent auction, a Feldenkrais Method Therapy demo, and much more. One of the highlights of the event will be a motivational speech by professional cyclist, Saul Raisin, who made a miraculous return to life from a brain injury during the Circuit de la Sarthe bicycle race in France in 2006.

Fronteras Student Expo 2011 Fronteras 2011 is set for Saturday, May 7, at th e Robert Shaw Theater at North Atlanta High School. There are two shows this year, one at 4:00 p.m. and one at 7:00 p.m. All flamenco students in Atlanta are invited to perform in the show, which is produced annually by jaleolé. Each of my group classes will present: Por tarantos (Tuesday adults' class) Por tientos (Saturday adults' class) Garrotín (Saturday kids' class).

"Entre Los Dos" presented at Gala at University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. I performed with José de Guadalupe (dancer) and Richard Smith (Pianist).
