Flamenco Arts

In the beginning, there was only the voice and the rhythms. Later, the melody to accompany and the movements as a part of an expression came along. Through the years, the music created by guitar and the movements (baile) were defined and polished... but behind flamenco as a universally known form, there has always been the voice of those who suffered and rejoiced. Without recognizing the voice (cante), we cannot apply the movements as a true art form. Without much respect for working on clean techniques, we cannot build upon movements that we can call our own. I am an aficionada (an enthusiastic fan) before anything and I will always be an alumna (student) of flamenco as its depth is nearly limitless. In all my classes, I strive to touch all aspects of flamenco - not limited to dancing – and share everything that I have from my flamenco experience and that I will acquire in the future.
