Compás y Aire

(For all levels. Everyone - musicians, dancers, and aficionados - is welcome!)

In this class, students will practice compás by playing palmas, finger/knuckle tapping, marking, walking, etc. We will listen to the music and work towards deeper understanding of the accents, intention, differences in the “sound” of rhythms, etc. We will seek “el compás (de flamenco)”  as a response and support to music – especially cante – and understand that it is not just simply an underlined cycle of rhythms.
